Dear Mr. Wiggins:
Trinidad Basin Mining, Inc., is in the process of developing a
permit application to damnstrate c~~liance with the Regulations of
the Colorado Mined Land Exclamation Board for Coal Mining and the
provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining R~lanation Pct in
order to cantinas their surface m;n;nq operation. As you )mow, the
Trinidad Basin Mine, formerly the Del Pgua Mine is approximately six
miles west of Ivdlow aryl has been in existence since 1977.
In on3er to satisfy Rule 2.05.5(1)(b) of the above regulations,
Trinidad Basin Mining must intact the surface owners of the land
within their permit boundary and solicit ceRnents on the proposed
post mininq land use. Therefore, Trinidad Hasin Mining is seeking your
Dements on the proposed post mining land use detailed below. A
speedy reply to this request cwld be most appreciated, as Trinidad
Basin Mining intends to submiit the application by February 17, 1981
to the Colorado Mined land Reclamati~ Division.
Trinidad Basin Mining intends to return the land to rangeland
and wildlife habitat upon ctiaq~letion of mining. It is believed that
this is the best post mininq land use for the land.
