<br />EXHIBIT L <br />RECLAMATION COSTS <br /> <br />Reclamation costs are very difficult to estimate at <br />this time. As stated in the Mining Plan, the gypsum beds <br />are discontinuous and chemically variable so that the utility <br />of abed must be determined during the actual mini~ag opera- <br />tion. Thus, the depth of excavation and height of highwalls <br />cannot be predicted in advance. However, it is anticipated <br />that conditions will not change materially from these exper- <br />ienced under the present mining, in which the maximum high- <br />wall is approximately 15 feet high. Aver most of the pro- <br />posed operation, the movement of overburden to the adjacent <br />cut will be part of the mining cost, and only the i_inal <br />grading and revegetation would be considered reclamation <br />expense. Experience in the other quarries indicatEas that <br />this would amount to approximately $500.00 per acrf: in 1980 dollars. <br />t 1• I <br />
