SubTerra, Inc. CYVCC-Foidel Creek Mine-Subsidence ... March 23, 1993
1.3.1 Transverse Profile /
• The results of the analysis for survey line 12000E are shown in Tables 3 to 6 and Figures l to 7.
Inspection of Figure 1 (and Table 3) indicates a maximum subsidence, due to Panel No.l
excavation, of 38 inches. However, Monument 100 was offset 43 feet from the panel centerline
resulting in an actual maximum subsidence of 44 inches (corresponding to Monument 78 of
survey line 6LCL (see Table b). Panel l maximum subsidence subsequently increased to 54 inches
after Panel No.2 excavation and 57 inches after Panel 3 extraction.
Other key data obtained from an inspection of Tables 3 to 6 and Figures 1 to 7 includes:
o Subsidence over the rigid-yield pillar pair increased from 30 inches, after Panel
No.2 extraction to 36 inches after Panel No.3 extraction.
o Maximum subsidence for Panel No.2 is the same as for Panel No.l after Panel
No.3 extraction.
o Maximum slope of 14 x l0a after Panel No.3 extraction.
o Maximum transverse horizontal displacements of +5 and -10 inches after Panel
No.l extraction.
o Maximum strains of +.003 and -.006 after Panel No. 1 extraction. Maximum
compression located over Panel No.l centerline. Maximum extension iocated over
• Panel No.l rib.
o Maximum transverse horizontal displacements of +7 and -11 inches after Panel
No.2 extraction.
o Maximum strains of +.003 and -.005 after Panel No. 2 extraction. Maximum
compression zones Located over Panei No.l and Panel No.2 centerlines. Maximum
extension zones located over Panel No.l and Panel No.2 ribs.
o Maximum transverse horizontal displacements of +8 and ~ inches after Panel
No.3 extraction.
o Maximum strains of +.003 and -.005 after Panel No. 3 extraction. Maximum
compression zones located over Panel No.l and Panel No.2 centerlines. Maximum
extension zones located over Panel No.l and Panel No.2 ribs.
1.3.2 Start Profiles
1.3.2.1 Start Profile for Panel No.l -Survey Line 6LCL
The results of the analysis for survey line 6LCL are shown in Tables 7 to 9 and Figures 8 to 10.
Inspection of Figure 8 (and Table 7) indicates a maximum subsidence of 44 inches due to Panel
No.l extraction increasing to 53 inches for Panel No.2 and 57 inches for panel No.3 extractions.

4
