Refuse Pile Constriction
The refuse pile will be constructed in 2-feet lifts and the slopes will be at approximately
2.Sh:ly.
Contemporaneois Reclamation
After the soils have been Gve-hauled directly to the outslopes of the existing pile, live
subsoil pile Ado 1, or stored at the Adorih Soils Storage Area (NSSA), the soils will be
seeded, using MCC's permanent seed mix, fertilized, and mulched A polypropylene
netting may be used to control erosion on the mulched slopes. Silt fence may also be
used to control erosion at the toe of the slope. Other disturbed areas, where the soils have
been stripped, but, the pile has not been constructed, may be seeded with a temporary
seed mix in the Fall of 2004. The temporary seeding will enhance aesthetic appearance
of the growing pile and reduce obnoxious weed infestations.
Other Considerations
The suggestion of using benches to create a break in the surface to help m;nimi~e soil
erosion has been considered. A bench for this purpose may be placed at the top elevation
. existing pile when both sections are built to this level, and then every 100 ft thereafter.
