immediate vicinity o! the pit. However, as the
~~ degree of irrigation within the permit area will
decrease as mining progresses, especially near the
pit, this approximation should have little
consequence.
c. Of the estimated 43.8 acre-feet pumped from the
pit, 18 acre-feet (43.8 x 5 mos/12 mos) pumped during
the winter non-irrigation season (November to lurch)
does not affect irrigation rights. Therefore a
supply of 43.8-18.0 or 25.8 acre-feet is needed to
augment water rights impacted by mining.
d. It was conservatively assumed that the entire 25.8
l.~
acre-feet comes from the designated impacted water
rights.
e. In order to effectively augment the potentially
impacted rights, an administration loss factor of 0.5
is used. Therefore 2 x 25.8, or 51.6, acre-feet will
be used for augmentation.
The total conservatively estimated mining-phase water
requirement is therefore 100.9 acre-feet. Of this, 49.3
acre-Peet will be consumptively used. The remainder (51.6)
is non-consumptive.
•-
17
GEO7RAN5, INC.
