C`:an~e is Discharge <br />PART II <br />Page 10 of 19 <br />The permittee shall inform the Division (Permits and enforcement <br />Section) is writing of any intent to construct, install, or alter any <br />process, facility, or activity that is likely to result in a new or <br />altered discharge and shall furnish the Division such plans and <br />specifications which the Division deems reasonably necessary to <br />evaluate the effect on the discharge and receiving stream. <br />The permittee shall submit this notice within two (2) weeks after <br />making a determination to perform the type of activity referred to is <br />the preceding paragraph. Process modifications include, but are not <br />limited to, the introduction of any new pollutant not previously <br />identified in the permit, or any other codifications which may result <br />in a discharge of a quanti*_y or quality different from that which was <br />applied for. Following such notice, the permittee shall be required to <br />submit a new CDPS application and the permit nay be modified to specify <br />and limit any pollutants not previously limited, if the new or altered <br />• discharge might be inconsistent with the conditions of the existing <br />permit. Ia ao case shall the permittee 1mpLement such c'nange without <br />first notifying the Division. <br />2. Special Yotifications - Definitions <br />a) Bypass: The intentional diversion of waste streams from any <br />portion of a treataent facility. <br />b) Severe Property Damage; Substantial physical damage to property at <br />the treatment facil_ties which causes rhea to become inoperable, or <br />substantial and permanent '_oss of natural resources which can <br />reasonably be expected to occur in the absence of a Bypass.
