Mr. JefjDeatherage
RE: Feit Pit SSP
November 30, 2004
Per condition 3 in the June 19, 2002 approval, the Canal No. 3 credit has been reduced. Using
the consumptive use amounts determined in Case No. 96CW658, each historically imgated acre
had an average consumptive use amount of 1.53 acre-feet per acre. Dry-up of 14 acres would
therefore result in a consumptive use credit of 21.4 acre-feet per share. Table No. 5 shows the
reduction in credit from previously issued SWSP and the revised credit of 21.4 acre-feet.
REPLACEMENT WATER
Replacements will be made from a combination of 2.8125 shares of Greeley Canal No. 3 Ditch
shazes and a lease from the City of Greeley. The water commissioner previously approved this
combination of replacement sources. Table No. 6 shows the scheduled replacements from the
Greeley Canal No. 3 shares and the City of Greeley lease.
Star Ready Mix, Inc. has requested a lease with the City of Greeley for 25.4 acre-feet of
consumable effluent from Greeley's wastewater treatment plant. The 2005 water year
replacements began in November 2004. A copy of the new lease will be forwarded to the SEO
when it is received. The City of Greeley schedules its leases from November 1 to October 31.
SURROUNDING WATER RIGHTS
The Feit Pit was issued well permit No. 054916-F on November 16, 2000. The consumptive use
for the site has decreased. Anew well permit and a 600-foot spacing inspection will not be
required. ,
LONG TERM AUGMENTATION
The Feit Pit mining operation possesses a corporate surety bond in the amount of $140,000. This
amount is available in the unlikely event that the mining operator abandons the Feit Pit mining
site.
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
• The annual consumptive use for the mining operation is approximately 45.5 acre-feet.
• Replacements will be from 2.8125 Greeley Canal No. 3 shazes and a lease of 25.4 acre-
feet from the City of Greeley
• The applicant will continue to maintain monthly accounting records of water use.
• It is requested that this plan be approved through October 31, 2005 to coincide with the
City of Greeley lease schedule.
