SESyL Ofi f~.~eL''i:~ a"6'auufC63
In correspondence from ~aou dated ;fay 28, 1985, you indicated that plans were
underway for a new pond at the Camp Bird Pfine, with completion estimated for
fall of 1985.
The District Engineer for the state inspected the site in October, 1985 and
noted changes in the flow configuration at the mine. Our records show that no
information has yet beau submitted by Federal Resources to update the permit
accordingly.
By no later than January 31, 1986 please provide this office with a detailed
description of the changes made at the site with regard to the pond system.
Include a copy of the engineered plans/specs if they are applicable.
On a separate matter, we are asking you to verify the accuracy of the
rectangular weirs located at outfalls 001 and 004. Our field people have
indicated in their reports that both weirs lack a sharp crest and are not
level. Please respond to this matter in the January 31 letter.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely, ,
, ~}~bld., ~, /~,~--C l 1.
