2.05.4 page 1
August 2005
RECLAMATION PLAN
ABANDONMENT OF THE MINE:
REMOVAL OF SURFACE FACILITIES
The following mine facilities and structures will be removed or demolished:
• Mine portal facilities, shown on Map C-4, will be tom down. The foundations, steel, and other
non-woody material will be pushed against the highwalls and covered by at least 4 feet of fill and
plant growth medium as detailed elsewhere in this section. Woody material will be moved to the
burn pit near the lower pump house and burned. Miscellaneous trash and debris (assume 150
cubic yards) accumulated during final reclamation will be burned and buried.
• The Tipple Building is only a "snow shed", of pole barn wnstruction, essentially atin-covered
wooden roof held up by several steel posts. This 60' x 65' structure has no walls and is 1 foot thick.
• The Tipple Shed measures 16' x 44' x 8', and is a wooden post and beam construction.
• The Mairs Conveyor Portal Shed is very similar in wnstruction to the Tipple Shed. This shed
measures about 12' x 20' x 8'.
• The Tipple Bin measures about 15'x25' S0' and is entirely constructed of steel beams and bolted
plate.
• The Mine Fan is a prefabricated wal mine ventilation fan assembly made up of three main parts.
The fan is basically a 6' diameter skid mounted cylinder about 16' long which unbolts from the fan
housing. The fan housing is a 5' diameter metal culvert which extends for several feet
underground to connect the fan to the mine workings. Adjacent to the fan housing is the escape
airlock unit which is a steel box with two sets of airlock doors. This steel box measures about 6' x
8'x8'.
• The Main Conveyor is elevated about 7' high and extends about 40 feet from the mine portal,
discharging into the Tipple Bins area. The structure measures about 5' wide by 4' high.
• The Stacker Conveyor extends about 300' from the Tipple Bins area to Stacker Tower #1, supported
about midway by Stacker Tower #2.
• Stacker Tower #1 is a 50' tall conveyor support tower of steel beam construction. It measures 16' x
16' at the base and tapers to 10' x 10' at the top, with a total volume of 8900 ft'.
• Stacker Tower #2 is a 25' tall conveyor support tower of steel beam construction. It measures 8.5' x
16' at the base and tapers to 8.5' x 5.5' at the top, with a total volume of 2284 ft3.
• Two S00 Gallon Diesel Tanks shown on Map C-4 are the property of the fuel distributor and will be
removed at no charge when no longer needed.
• The ii'arehouse Building is a double-wide industrial office/utility trailer. Local mobile home
movers charge $2.00/mile to haul and $500-750 hook-up fee depending on tine availability and
skirting removal.
• The Bathhouse is a steel sided building measuring 40' x 60' x 18'.
