Response to Rule 2.02{2){e):
Trapper mine desires to explore the development potential of the deep coal reserves
present within the current boundaries of the surface mining permit. Initially, five
holes are proposed as part of this Notice of Intent. Additional holes required will be
included in an additional Notice of Intent (the location of additional holes shall be
determined by results from initial drill holes). The conditions of each site are
described as follows:
OS-LW 16:
This drill site is located in an area of the current mining permit where bond release
has been issued. The site is located 850 feet from an existing road. The area is
covered by grasses on a mild slope (<I O%}. Access to the site will be by driving over
the ground from the existing road to the site. Topsoil will be removed from the site
and stored at the end of the drill pad which shall be nominally 100 feet square. A
mud pit shall be dug using aback-hoe. The reserve pit shall be approximately 20 feet
X 10 feet and 8 feet deep. The acreage disturbed for the drill site will be
approximately .23 acres and that for the access road .16 acres. The site will be
occupied by drilling equipment for approximately six up to 12 days.
OS-LW 17:
This site is located in a grassy meadow approximately 200 feet north of a power line
right of way. The Bound slopes very gently (<4%). Access to the site will be gained
by traveling an existing road along the power line right of way and then travel cross-
country. Top soil will be removed from the site and stored at the end of the drill pad
which shall be nominally 100 feet square. A reserve pit shall be dug using aback-
hoe. The mud pit shall be approximately 20 feet X 10 feet and 8 feet deep. The
acreage disturbed for the drill site will be approximately .23 acres and that for the
access road .04 acres. The site will be occupied by drilling equipment for
approximately seven up to 14 days.
OS-LW 18:
This site is located on a ridge to the south of land disturbed and reclaimed as part of
the mining operation. The site is located in a flat area immediately adjacent to an
existing dirt road. Topsoil will be removed from the site and stored at the end of the
drill pad, which shall be nominally 100 feet square. A reserve pit shall be dug using
aback-hoe. The mud pit shall be approximately 20 feet X 10 feet and 8 feet deep.
The acreage disturbed for the drill site will be approximately ,23 acres. The site will
be occupied by drilling equipment for approximately six up to 12 days.
OS-LW 19:
This site is located in an area where the mining operation has filled the mining cut
with spoil material and the spoil has been contoured. Topsoil has yet to be placed in
the area to be used as a drill location. The site is adjacent to an existing road that is
used in the mining operation. The slope in the area is moderate (<I O%). The drill
site shall be approximately 100 feet square. A reserve pit shall be dug using a back-
