Walker, Byron
From: Brian Watterson [BWatterson@peabodyenergy.comj
Sent: Thursday, July 14, 2005 11:56 AM
To: byron.walker@state.co.us
Cc: Jerry Nettleton
Subject: DMR CO-0042161exceedance 1st qtr 2005
Byron:

As you're aware, the 30 day average limit (35 mg/I) for total suspended solids (TSS) was exceeded by 5 mg/I at
Outtall 001A in February. Note that flow at this Outfall was limited. One sample was collected the first week in
February. By the time sample results were received on February 18th, the Outtall had stopped flowing, and would
not Flow again until 5 weeks later in March. Thus, no other samples could be collected in February to obtain a
truer average for that month. Note that the TSS concentration for March was only 7 mg/I. Also note that this
Outtall does not have a history of exceeding this parameter.
I mentioned the subject exceedance (among other topics) in a conversation with you after receiving the laboratory
report on February 18th.
Thanks,
Brian
E-mail Disclaimer:
The information contained in this a-mail, and in any accompanying
documents, may constitute confidential and/or legally privileged
information.
