_. . . <br />5. DEFERRASENT: <br />A. Defer seeded are from ALL use for at least a two year period <br />or until grass is established. This may require fencing. <br />6. WEED CONTROL: <br />A. Annual weeds and grasses compete with grass seedings and <br />cause poor stands or failures. Post emergence herbicides <br />may be needed during the year of establishment and the <br />following year. Mowing is a recommended alternative to <br />the use of herbicides. <br />7. SEEULJG DATES: <br />A. Seeding should be completed in late fall just prior to <br />freeze up and snowfall. This will avoid seed loss to spring <br />winds and allow new seedlings to take full advantage of <br />winter moisture. If seeding is to be done in spring, it is <br />recommended that a mulch be considered to increase survival <br />of the nee, seeding. <br />
