EXHIBIT C -Mining Plan
The pit will continue to operate annually. Estimate life span of 15 years, however
this will depend upon the debth, quality and quantity of gravel. The site has 6" to
12" of top soil, the grass and same crops growing now.. The county will stockpile
what top soil that will be removed at the time of mining. Reclaimation will occur
as the depth of gravel is exhausted. Plant growth and top soil will be reinstated
immediately after the gravel is exhausted at a thickness of approximately 4 to six
inches. The stockpile of topsoil will be seeded to Western Wheatgrass, using a
grass seeding drill. Beading rate will be 9.48 PLS.
The estimated depth of gravel is 22 feet.
Access is currently available from Sedgwick County road 12. A trail road is
maintained into the pit site. Stockpiling will be placed for easy removal by
loaders and trucks. .-
There will be no water at the site, we will not wash gravel.
Because of the location very little water if any will cross the site. There are only
small drainage ways that cross the site. These drainage ways may pass a small
amount of storm water in thunderstorm conditions.
The gravel will be stockpiled with a dozer and loaded on trucks with a wheel
loader. We will not wash gravel, or chemical treat gravel for any reason at any
time. The gravel from this site will be used for improving the surface of gravel
roads in the county, and repairing water damage due to excessive rainfall. Some
of the gravel may have to be screened and we will have to move a small
screening plant in from time to time.
