r • •
river would be placed during one-third of the year and 7.5 acre feet is
more than one-third of the evaporative loss on an annual basis.
Wells are mentioned and defined on "Exhibit C". No surface
tributary water courses, springs, stock water ponds, or reservoirs exist
on the affected land. Internal irrigation ditches owned and exclusively
used by the property owner were mentioned on "Exhibit C" but, because of
the mining operation, will not be used.
The mining operation will have no water use requirements as there
will be no processing of materials on-site. The extent of the operation
will be the excavation, possible stock-piling for short periods of time
and removal from the site. Water necessary for fire control or dust
control would come by way of water trucks, either from outside sources
or the owner's wells on-site. It should be noted that within the
excepted area is the owner's domestic water supply well and its source
is below the area to be excavated. Again, it should be mentioned of the
owner's wells within the area actually being mined, there are 4 and 2 of
the 4 are or could be made operative as may be required.
The operator has inquired about a National Pollutant Discharge
Elimination System Permit from the Water Quality Control Division of the
Colorado Department of Health. It is not required.
LXHIBIT "G"
Water Information
Page 2
