This information presumes the affected area will be
reclaimed for rangeland and/or wildlife i~se.
1. Topsoil should be removed and stockpiled prior to gravel pit operation.
2. At reclaimation, after shaping and grading have taken place, the topsoil
should be uniformly a_nn_lied over the site Topsoil should be at least 6
inches deep.
3. The site should be fertilized with at least 30 noi~nds o.f nitrogen and 40
pounds of phosphate per acre.
4. Seedbed should be smooth and firm.
5. Grasses should be seeded from November 15 through April 30th the
following year.
6. Grasses seeding should be done with a crass drill, where possible
d.rilling_ should be done across slope. Drill grass 1/2 to 3/3 inch deep. For
seeding recommendation see enclosed CO-ECS-S form.
7. Reclaimed area should be mulched according to the enclosed Standard and
Specification Mulching sheet.
