.aDJ.aCE`iT WELLS
The 600-foot spacing, as we understand it, dens not apply to the GeiseR Pit because it is
an existing pit prior to Senate Bill 120. Shawn I-ioff has made a site visit and performed
a fizld inspection for the proposed alluvial o.e!1. There is an e:isting ~~•ell 1137-R,
whic!r is o~~ned by Vveld County that is located on site (see Figure ido. 3). However, this
•.vell has been approved by your office to be replaced at a location approximately 2,20
feet to the northeast of the current location. This structure is no[ currently beins used and
will be plugeed and made inoperable within the nest hvo months. [n addition, the
proposed location of dte new well will be within 600 fzet of the current Weld County
GeiseR Pit. Enclosed is a statement from ~V ld Counh~ waiving anv objection to the
issuance of this well permit. Therz is a gravel pit located across the river permitted to
Bucklen Equipment Company. This pit has a denied well permit under number
13076-AD. Anew application was submitted for Bucklen in December 1993, but your
office was unable to locate the application. Since the records currently show a denied
~ve11 permit, a 600-foot statement was not obtained. In addition, there should not be
injury to the pit because it is located across the river.
CONCLUSIONS
a It is proposed that all process water will be provided [hrough the new alluvial well
that has yet to be drilled and/or groundwa[er from the gravel pit lakes.
• The consumptive use of water will be from evaporation, moisture loss in washed
material, and dust control. Thz total estimated consumptive use is 130.~~ acre-feet.
o Replacement water will be provided through the City of Greeley. Reusable effluent
will be replaced to the river at their water treatment plant during all months of the
year.
• A 600-foot spacing is not required for the subject operation because it is an existing
pit prior to Senate Bill 120. The alluvia( well will be located within 600 feet of the
existing GeiseR Pit and that consent form is enclosed.
This is the additional information required for the substitute water sttpply plan for Geisert
Pit. If you have any questions or need more information, please call.
Sincerely,
TUTTLE APPLEGATE, NC.
•.~ tt,.~. °~ ~
Steve Neuven
encs.
cc: File R9S-170
Shawn Hoff, Poudre River t,4ater Commissioner
Lee Morrison, Assistant ~V'eld County Attorney
