10!2712000 10:20 719-543-1329 e.ARtJHART AGENCY PAGE B4 <br />• <br />RESPONSE TO PRE-OPERATION INSPECTION REPORT <br />Permanent man-made structures: The powerline; road, and fences have been addressed <br />above in Exhibit S and the Exhibit C maps have been revised to show these structwes. <br />Mining efc ec/amation: The applicant agrees that there will be no more than 10 acres of <br />open pit and no more than 10001ineal feet of vertical, unreduced highwall existing at any time. <br />Overbtvden and topsoil will be stripped prior to excavating the gravel deposit. The overburden <br />will be stockpiled along two margins of the area to be excavated and the topsoil on the third. The <br />remaining pit margin will he ramped down into the pit. One mining has reached the 10 acre <br />limit, mining will be down to a 3H:1V slope to a.oid reducing the highwall by backfilling. <br />Another 25 acres for stockpiles; processing, roads, etc. will be included for bonding <br />purposes. The applicant commits to maintaining adequate markers for the excavation area and <br />other affected areas. In eummar}-, at an}~ time there will ba a maximum of 10 ncres 6cing <br />excavated and a maximum of 25 acres of other affected areas for a maximum total of 35 acres <br />affected at any time. <br />Reclamation will consist of "shingling" in the overburden on the 3H:1 V pit mazgins and <br />spreading the topsoil on the replaced overburden, pit floor, and ramped fouth pit mazgin. <br />Processing and stockpile areas as well as roads will be ripped prior to reclamation. <br />If }'ou have any further questions or requirements, please call Joe V.
