The proposed site is for gravel rock extraction by the Fremont County Road
Department, Howard Pit #I & #2. The location is on Howard Cr. in western Fremont County.
Two property owners own the land; Bill Canterbury Jr., and Gary Graley. Fremont County will
be the lessee of the operation. Approximately 8.8 acres is involved.
The present land use is native range and the proposed post-mining land is to return to rangeland
use. The Fremont SCD has been asked to comment on the post mining land use.
I have reviewed the application and am familiar with the location. I believe a return to rangeland
is the best suited land use. The application also includes a reclamation plan and proposed re-
vegetation seeding nrix. The mix includes a good diverse mixture of plants suited to
reclamation of [he site.
Sincerely,
iJ
Roy Roper,
Contrac{Soil Conservationist
Cc: Joan Adair, President Fremont SCD
Howard Pi[ I & 2
~~s
CONSERVATION -DEVELOPMENT- SELF-GOVERNMENT
