• Threatened, Endangered, Sensitive and Management Indicator Species
During habitat and wildlife surveys no Threatened, Endangered, Sensitive or
Management Indicator species were observed. As noted previously in this
report, there is potential lynx denning habitat a few hundred yards from this
site, but none of that habitat would be disturbed by activities associated with
drilling operations.
Raptors
There is suitable raptor nesting habitat (especially for accipiters) within a 1/4
mile radius of the site. No raptor nests were located during the surveys. The
drill site and access road corridor are located in an open stand of aspen that
lacks conditions suitable for raptor nesting. Development would not affect
other areas where suitable nesting conditions exist.
Bird Survey
Both the diversity and density of birds were what would be expected for the
habitat types found around the drill site. All species observed are known to
9
Site EEE. Picture facing east.
