<br />lIIRD COt4'LIANCE GITIDANCE <br />I. The Colorado Historical Society's comments are needed before the <br />permit is issued. Contact at the earliest stages of planning is requested. <br />II. Identification of properties in area of proposed action <br />A. File search <br />* Applicant requests a file search by completing a copy of the <br />attached Site File Search Request form and providing a map of the proposed <br />permit area - USGS 7 1/2" topographic map preferred. <br />* Indicate condition of the permit area with regard to specific <br />locations subject to previous disturbance and nature of disturbance, i.e. <br />grazed, plowed to depth of _, graded, former site of a structure, etc. <br />B. Structures <br />* If there are structures fifty or more years old in the proposed <br />permit area, applicant completes a copy of the attached inventory form for <br />each such structure on the property. <br />* Provide photographs of all structures/features on the property, <br />including any less than fifty years of age. Key these photos to a sketch <br />map of the property and to inventory farms, as appropriate. <br />C. Archaeology <br />* Based on the above information, the Society will advise MI.FLD on the <br />need for an archaeological survey. <br />III. Determination of significance <br />* Based on the Society's review of the file search, any inventory <br />forms and any survey results, the Society will advise the applicant and <br />NII,RD whether properties of historical significance are located within the <br />area of the proposed action. <br />IV. Determination of effect <br />* Provide details of the permit activity, including specific areas <br />where ground disturbance will occur and/or actions involving historic <br />structures/features. <br />* The Society will advise MI1tD on the need for further work to avoid, <br />minimize or mitigate any adverse effects. <br />
