To help achieve this objective, the <br />following statement of policy is made !or the guitlance <br />of all employers: <br />1. Accident control and lire protection are essen- <br />tial to Company pperalions. Waste of human and mat- <br />erial resources cannot be tolerated. <br />2. All safety and fire preven lion activrUes must be <br />designetl to reduce hazards lincluding unsafe acts as <br />well as unsafe conditionsl, <br />3. All employees are to be [rained, supervised, and <br />encouraged to participate and assist in the ace itlent <br />preven hon program. <br />4. It is the Company's desire to provide a sate and <br />healthy work environment. <br />5. Every employee has a basic responsibility to pre- <br />vent accidents. <br />Page 4 <br />i • <br />GENERAL SAFETY RULES <br />1. Good housekeeping is the lust lundamcn tat of <br />accident prevention, and should be of primary concern <br />to all levels of management and all rmployees. All <br />working areas shall be maimained in a dean and order <br />ly fashion. <br />2. An approved, nomconductmg hard hat shall he <br />worn a[ all limes, except within un pfticc laulity, the <br />hathhouse, and in designated lunch areas only tluring <br />an Cmployee'S lunch Penptl. <br />3 Hartl hats are to be colored green d an employee <br />has less than one year of coming expenence. All others <br />shall be white. <br />4. Steel-roed safety shoes shall be worn at all times <br />except within an oll¢e faa lily. <br />5. When vehicles or machinery are equipped with <br />seat bens, they shall be worn at all limes while the <br />equipment is in motion. <br />6. Safety blocking mull be in place before working, <br />walking, or droving under a suspenUCd load. <br />7. There wdl be no smoking, or open (lames m any <br />area posted with a "NO SMOKING" or "NO OPEN <br />FLAMES" sign pr in any vehicle contai ninq explosives. <br />8. No personnel shall be carr ietl on, or in, any <br />tlevice not intended for such purposes, ind udmg noiso <br />ing, loading, or conveying eyuipmem <br />9. Getting on or off moving eywpmenl is <br />prohibned. <br />10. Eating lunch or resting under, in front Of, or <br />behind parked mobile equipment is prohibited. <br />17.
