' Mine Pit - West Pit Area
' The East Pit Area reclamation costs are included with the waste rock areas
so reclamation costs for the pits include only costs for the West Pit area. The
' ultimate West Pit area will encompass approximately 110 acres. Mining in the West
Pit area will begin in Year 2. By the end of Phase 1 (Year 3) approximately 55
' acres or one half of the entire West Pit area will have been stripped and/or
mined. Mining will occur from north to south so areas adjacent to the south pit
' wall of the West Pit will not be disturbed by the end of Phase 1. The acreage
to be reclaimed will be the flatter areas of the pit, approximately 47 acres.
Mining will occur to the final configuration and no additional grading will be
necessary. Phase 2 reclamation costs assume that no concurrent reclamation occurs
in the pit area. The reclamation at the south end of the West Pit, mined during
' the final years of the porject, will include the placement of a roc w, toe buttress
along the south east end of the south wall of the West Pit.
' A. Topsoil Replacement
' For 18 inches of topsoil replacement will need:
• 43,560 ft2/acre x 1.5 ft x 1 yd3/27 ft3 = 2,420 yd3/acre
Topsoil will be replaced using an International scraper with a capacity
of 23 yd3 at a cost of S95/hour.
Haul distance varies from 600 feet to 2,800 feet.
An average of 2,000 feet is assumed.
Grade is 8 percent.
Production is 190 yd3/hour
Adjusted for 0.83 job efficiency and operating altitude of O.ES7, production
is 137 yd3/hour,
2,420 yd3 x 1 hour/137 yd3 x S95/hour = $1,678/acre
' B. Topsoil Gradin
Using a D-7 dozer with a U type blade.
' Average push distance is 50 feet.
Production from the Caterpillar handbook is 1,250 yd3/hour.
t Job efficiency is 0.83.
Slope adjustment is 1.05.

' t 2 (Revised 4/20/89)
(Revised 3/14/89)
