f <br />/`~~ <br />SOMERSET MINING COMPANY <br />SEDIMENT POND B <br />in accordance with Rule 4.05.6(10), each sediment pond will be <br />inspected during construction under the supervision of, and <br />certified after construction by, a qualified registered <br />professional engineer. This certification is for the construction <br />of Sediment Pond B at the Somerset Mine which was constructed <br />during September and October 1992. <br />The construction of the pond was supervised by L. K. Jewkes, an EIT <br />and Colorado School of Mines graduate, who works under my <br />supervision. Mr. Jewkes has a wide variety of experience in the <br />construction industry. __ ___ _ _ __ _ _ __ _ <br />Pond B is near the entrance to the Somerset Mine just east of the <br />haul road. This pond is a dugout type pond, therefore it does not <br />have true compacted embankments. The pond was constructed in <br />accordance with the approved plan. The design of pond B is shown <br />on drawing 5-039, dated 01-27-92. The design calculations for pond <br />B are contained in Appendix B page B-103.
