Although MCC did not exceed the daily maximum of 7.0 mg/L, it was the only sample for the
entire 1 S` Quarter 2004. This specific sediment pond at the Train Loadout facility has a working capacity
of 18,670 gallons, and it was discharged one time during the ls` Quarter 2004, thus, there were no other
samples to calculate the 30-day-average.
As apro-active measure MCC normally conducts pre-dischazge sampling for Total Suspended Solids
and a field pH for the sediment ponds. In the future, MCC will conduct apre-discharge sample that will
include a Total Iron analysis prior to discharge of Outfa11008A.
If you have questions or need additional information concerning this matter, please contact me at (970)
929-2238.
Since ~ ,
' ~v~~~/L/t/~--'
~ enry Bazbe
Environmental Engineer
cc: James Burnell - CDMG-OMLR
G.
