6. The pad areas will be fertilized (30-0-0, minimum NPK), seeded with the
approved seed mix, and mulched (certified weed-free straw).
7. The access roads will be restored as closely as possible to the approximate
original contour, re-seeded, fertilized, and mulched as above.
8. The drill pads and access roads reclamation procedure outlined above will
apply only to those areas newly disturbed for this proposed project. Existing
roads will be left in a condition equal to or better than that observed on
Mountain Coal Company's entry into the area or to the satisfaction of the
USFS representative.
9. Any coal recovered incidentally to this project will be in the form of cuttings or
core and would either be taken back to the mine site or disposed of in the mud
pits.
ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE
Duration of the project will be a function of the success of the initial drilling, monitoring,
and effectiveness of de-gassing. It is anticipated that two holes (ESM-1 and ESM-2) will
be drilled in July through September 2005 depending on drill rig availability. The other
two holes (ESM-3 and ESM-4) may also be drilled in July through September 2005 if
drilling is successful with ESM-1 and ESM 2 and the prospects for good methane
drainage appeaz positive. Otherwise MDWs ESM-3 and ESM-4 may be drilled during
July through September 2006. It will take approximately 2 weeks to drill and complete
each of the holes and perform interim reclamation.
The term of use is variable due to levels of methane found in the mine as a result of the
drilling, If successful with ESM-1 and ESM 2 and the prospects for good methane
drainage appeaz positive, then ESM-3 and ESM-4 will be drilled. The sites could be
operational for up to five years; therefore the sites will be fenced and signed for public
safety.
MEASURES TO BE USED TO COMPLY WITH PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
FOR THE PROJECT (43 CFR 3484.1(al. 30 CFR 815.15, and Colorado Division of
Minerals and Geology Rules and Re ations)
1. Operator shall comply with applicable requirements of surface management
agency, 30 CFR 815.15, or approved State program.
