~~~ £~~
Colorado Gravel Products Inc.
45247 Hwy. 112
Center, CO 81125
L~,, EXHIBIT L-Reclamation Costs
Mobilization costs are based on using a D8 dozer rented from local contractors from
either Monte Vista CO. or Mosca CO.
Land preparation will consist of land planing with a spring tooth chisel attached
directly to the land plane.
Topsoil replacement will be conducted in two different manners. Topsoil stockpiles will
be pushed and spread with a D8 dozer. The topsoil stockpile areas are placed to
assure a push and drop of less than 300 ft. The operator plans to use a scraper to
remove and replace topsoil as soon as mining and shaping has been completed. This
remove and replace method, making reclamation a part of mining, will speed up
reclamation and help reduce reclamation costs. Also topsoil stockpiles will be small
and placed where they will not be disturbed keeping revegetation costs low.
Straw mulch will be spread at a rate of two tons per acre, mechanically spread
crimped or harrowed in place.
