L 13 1983
N11NED LAND nECLl1UTATION
Colo. Depi. of Natu+al Resources
Accompanying this letter are two copies of the Gold Hill
Mining Company's Application for a Limited Impact Mining and
Reclamation Permit for Cash mine. This mine is located in the
Gold Hill mining district in Boulder County.
The Cash mine reactivation has been planned as underground
gold-silver telluride mine and a surface mine dump sorting and
upgrading operation. Mine production is based on mining 9,000
tons of ore and handling 6,000 tons of dump material per year
at 30 and 20 tons per day, respectively. The combined under-
ground and surface operation at the Cash mine is not expected
to exceed 15,000 tons per year, or to affect more than 2.261
acres of land surface. The Gold Hill Mining Company recog-
nizes that an amendment of this permit, or another permit,
will be necessary if the acreage of land affected by this
operation is increased.
All of the other county, state, and federal departments and
agencies involved in mine permitting and in monitoring mining
operations will be contacted and notified of our plans in the
proper manner and sequence. The Boulder County Zoning Divi-
sion has already specified that our proposed mining operation
is in conformance with existing zoning regulations. We are
filing copies of this Application for a Limited Impact Mining
and Reclamation Permit with the Boulder County Zoning Depart-
ment as part of our Application for a Boulder County Mining
Permit. Other Copies are being filed with the Boulder County
Recorder's Office, the Boulder Health Department, and the
Colorado Division of Wildlife. We are also concurrently
applying for a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System
Permit to Discharge the Cash mine waters with the Colorado De-
partment of Health. In addition to the copy of our notice
that will be published in the Boulder Daily Camera, all im-
mediately adjacent land owners of record will receive a copy
of this application.
