Section 815.15 (c) Continued. <br />• to all areas of the road which are altered or which result in such <br />additional contributions. <br />(iii) If the road is significantly altered for exploration activities <br />and will remain as a permanent road aftex• exploration activities are <br />completed, the person conducting exploration shall ensure that the <br />requirements of 30 CFR 816.150-816.166, as appropriate, are met for the <br />design, construction, alteration, and maintenance of the road. <br />(4) Promptly after exploration activities are completed, existing roads <br />used during exploration shall be reclaimed either -- <br />(i) To a condition equal to or better than their preexploration condi- <br />tion; or <br />(ii) To the condition required for permanent roads under 30 CFR 816.150- <br />• 816.166, as appropriate. <br />All vehicular traffic will be limited to established, graded roads <br />at all times, except in cases where limited off-road travel will be <br />less damaging to vegetation and the surface than the construction <br />of a new road. <br />My new road to be built for the exploration project will be <br />utilized for less than 6 months and thus will be constructed as a <br />Class III road, according to the provisions of 30 CFR 816.170- <br />816.176. <br />Each proposed road site will be inspected prior to construction so <br />that any possible conflicts with the requirements of 30 CFR 816.170- <br />816.176 can be eliminated before construction. Most roads will be <br />constructed parallel to topographic contours and on the areas of <br />least slope wherever possible. Roads will be relocated or deviated <br />• to take advantage of natural clearings and other features in order <br />815-4 <br />
