APPENDIX 3-1 <br />I ~. <br />PERMIT AREA LEGAL DESCRIPTION <br />The permit area is located approximately 1.5 miles southeast of Hayden, Colorado <br />in Routt County. The USGS 7.5-minute quadrangle map, Mount Harris, contains the <br />described area of the site. The general legal description of the proposed permit <br />area for the Hayden Gulch coal loadout facility is provided below. <br />T6N, RSBW (all west of the 6~' Principle Meridian) <br />Section 10, Portions of E'~a <br />Section 14, Portions of WsR <br />Section 15, Portions of EhE4 <br />Section 22, Portions of NE;t <br />Section 23, Portions of N~sN3sNW4 <br />Containing approximately 175.3 acres, all in Routt County, Colorado. <br />Approximately 97.1 acres of the permitted area have been affected. No additional <br />disturbances are contemplated at this time for the operational life of the <br />facility (see Exhibit 17-1). However, an additional 8.9 acres may be disturbed <br />during reclamation to accommodate grading activities. <br />HAYDEN GULCH TERMINAL <br />APPROXIMATE PERMIT BOUNDARY DESCRIPTION <br />Starting at a point 199 feet S98° 32'E from the northwest corner of Section 23 <br />T6N, R88W; thence 115 feet NO° 39'W; thence 140 feet S87° 91'E; thence 80 feet <br />N71° 39'E; thence 859 feet N89° 15'E; thence 35 feet south; thence 269 feet N79° <br />45'E; thence 85 feet N3° 56'E; thence 909 feet N76° 7'E; thence 215 feet N58° <br />42'E; thence 85 feet NB8° 1'E; thence 317 feet N32° 95'E. To a point 100 feet <br />from the center of the railroad track the permit boundary then parallels the <br />tract for a distance of 7,379 feet. Thence 57 feet S85° 2'W; thence 292 feet NO° <br />53'W. To a point 75 feet from the center of the railroad track. The Permit <br />boundary then parallels the tracks for a distance of 3, 971 feet to a point 50 <br />feet from the center of the DbRGW railroad track. The permit boundary then <br />parallels the D6RGW railroad for a distance of 503 feet to a point 75 feet from <br />the center of the railroad tracks. The permit boundary then parallels the <br />railroad track for a distance of 2,091 feet to a point 100 feet from the center <br />of the zailroad tracks, then parallels the railroad track 8,163 feet.
