Ms. Lorraine Stepenske
Division of Minerals and Geology
September 24, 1992
Page 6
As a matter of information we have enclosed copies of our
substitute supply plan and the well permit application which were
submitted to the Division of Water Resources. In our most recent
application on Tucson Resource in Adams County, it was a
requirement of the permit to show proof we had submitted these
applications. We believe that would be an appropriate condition on
this application.
The recharge ponds or trenches are one of several options which the
operator can use in order to replace water to adjacent well owners.
In. the past we have never been required to provide final
construction documents for these ponds or trenches. They will be
constructed on the operators property between the mine and the well
and as close to the well as possible. We understand these are
disturbances on the site and would need to be reclaimed if the
operator forfeited the bond. At the most, these facilities would
be 5,000 square feet in size each and we think there could be a
need for them both at the east and west end. It is fair to ask for
monies to cover this reclamation and we propose an amount of
$1,000.00 each to reclaim these facilities for a total of
$2,000.00.
We are providing a copy of this clarification letter on your
adequacy review to the Weld County Clerk. Your adequacy questions
have required no changes or additions to the application. Please
call me if you have any additional questions.
Cordially,
TUTTLE APPLEGATE, INC.
Gary J.
