Sc~ton - 2.05.4
fences, etc.) until effective drainage can be reestablished. Any berms constructed to contain small
drainage azeas will be revegetated and left in place. The vegetative cover will help to stabilize the
berms and over time the azea on the uphill side of the berms will silt in completing the reclamation
process. Regrading operations will be limited to existing disturbance azeas and those inrrnediately
adjacent tmdisturbed azeas necessary to provide for effective blending of regraded surfaces with the
surrounding terrain. Fugitive dust emissions will be controlled during reclamation by periodic
watering of roads and active reclamation areas.
Soil materials will be sampled following replacement to verify suitability and will be stabilized by
leaving the surface of the replaced soil in a roughened condition to min;mi>e surface runoff and
erosion and promote moisture infiltration and through application of straw or native hay mulch
following seeding.
TABLE 2.05.4-Tt
SURFACE DISTURBANCE SUMMARY
Area Disturbance Reference
lacresl Drawing
Elk Creek Coal Handling, Support, and Ancillary 39,0 Map 2.05-M1, General Facilities
Facilities Exhibit 2.05-Et, Facilities Details
Sanborn Creek Mine Surface Facilities 4.1 Map 2.05-M1, General Facilities
Exhibit 2.05-E1, Facilities Details
West Valley Coal Refuse Facility and Haul Road 12.9 Map 2.05-Mi, General Facilities
Exhibit 2.05-E4, Mine Development
Rock/Coal Refuse Facility
Elk Creek Mine Surface Facilities 24.2 Map 2.05-M1, General Facilities
lof total 8.6 is new and 15.6 is existing) Map 2.05-M3, Facilities Details
II West Coal Refuse Facility 8.6 Map 2.05-M1 General Facilities
Exhibit 2.05-E4, Mine Development
Rock/Coal refuse Facility Desi ns
Satellite Facilities
Upper Hubbard Creek Facilities Area 3.3 Map 2.05-M1, General Facilities
Map 2.05-E1, Facilities Details
Lower Hubbard Creek Facilities Area 2.6 Map 2.05-M1, General Facilities
Map 2.05-E1, Facilities Details
Hubbard Creek Power Line Road 0.7 Map 2.05-M1, General Facilities
Exhibit 2.05-E7 Facilities Designs
Bear Creek Facilities Area 3.0 Map 2.05-M1, General Facilities
Exhibit 2.05-E1, Facilities Details
Water Treatment Plant Area 1.5 MaA 2.05-M7, General Facilities
Sewage Effluent Absorption Field 0.3 Map 2.05-M1, General Facilities
Substation No. 3 and C-Gulch Ventilation 1.6 Map 2.05-M1, General Facilities
Installation
Coal Gulch Exploration Sites 0.4 Map 2.05-M1, General Facilities
Powerline Roads 17.0 Map 2.05-M1, General Facilities
De as Well Sites ICBM-1- 151 and Roads 7.1 Map 2.05-M1, General Facilities
Eik Creek Mine Gob Vent boreholes and roads. 12.76 Map 2.05-M1, General Facilities
Subtotal -Satellite Facilities 50.26 Map 2.05-M1, General Facilities
Total 139.26
Soil samples will be analyzed for [he parameters of pH, acid-base potential, saturation percent,
electrical conductivity, sodium adsorption ratio, selenium, boron, texture, nitrogen, phosphorus, and
potassium Any necessary application of soil supplements or fertilizer gill be based on soil analysis
results.
Revegetation success will be determined based on the results of revegetation monitoring.
Revegetation monitoring for reclaimed areas will occur ut the third or fourth, ninth, and tenth year
following perrrlanent seeding. In general, revegetation success Rill be evaluated based on the
parameters of cover, production and diversity by comparing monitoring data from reclaittle d areas
and corresponding vegetation reference areas.
