<br />RESPONSE TO PRE-OPERATION INSPECTION REPORT <br />Pe~mcrnen[ nran-made srruch~res: The powerline, road, and fences have been addressed <br />above in Exhibit S and the Exhibit C maps have been revised to show these structures. <br />Minrng & eclamation: The applicant agrees [hat there will be no more than 10 acres of <br />open pit and no more than 1000 lineal feet of vertical, unreduced highwall existing at any time. <br />Overburden and topsoil will be stripped prior to excavating the gravel deposit. The overburden <br />will be stockpiled along two margins of the area to be excavated and the topsoil on the third. The <br />remaining pit margin will be ramped down into the pi[. One mining has reached the 10 acre <br />limit, mining will be down to a 3H:lV slope to avoid reducing the highwall by backfilling. <br />Another 25 acres for stockpiles, processing, roads, etc. will be included for bonding <br />proposes. The applicant commits to maintaining adequate markers for the excavation area and <br />other affected areas. In summaq~, a[ any time there will be a maximum of 10 acres being <br />excavated and a maximum of 25 acres of other affected areas for a maximum total of 35 acres <br />affected at any time. <br />Reclamation will consist of "shingling" in [he overburden on the 3H:1 V pit margins and <br />spreading the topsoil on [he replaced overburden. pit floor, and ramped fouth pit margin. <br />Processing and stockpile areas as well as roads will be ripped prior to reclamation. <br />If you have any further questions or requirements, please call Joe V.
