• 2.06.8 Alluvial Valley Floor
2,06,8(5)(a)(i)(A)
Sunland Mining Corporation produced 12,762 tons of
coal in the period from August 1976 to July 1977. This
production is a matter of public record as submitted to the
Colorado Division of Mines.
Rule 4,24.4
The Trout Creek valley in Sunland Mining Corporation's
surface disturbed area was an essentially planar, poorly-
drained surface whose elevation was at (or very nearly at)
the groundwater table,
This area was subject to periodic flooding by Trout
Creek. No agricultural utility existed in this area.
The post-mining topography will be re-established as
an essentially planar surface at an approximate 3' higher
elevation than pre-mining. The area will still be
susceptible to flooding by Trout Creek. However, this
flooding should be much less frequent.
Suitable structures could be easily constructed to
flood irrigate the area if desired. Drainage and
• agricultural utility will be much improved, The area will
still be subject to sub-irrigation.
No change has or will be made to tfie Trout Creek
stream channel,
Section 2.04.7 - Hydrology (beginning on page SO) explains the details of the
interactian of the mine operation with Trout Creek (Middle Creek), and why the
operation has not nor will affect any alluvial valley floors in the area.
Page 212
~evised for Mid-Term Review l2/2S/95
