Shrub spedes will not
be dipped. Clipped samples will be oven-dried at 105 degrees centigrade for a minimum of 24
hours and will be weighed [o the nearest tenth of a gram. Production data will be summarized
by computing mean production values and percent of total biomes for each dipped fraction.
Comparisons between the affected and comparison areas will be made using a t-test.
3.3 OTHER DATA
In addition to the cover and production data, observations will also be made on total spedes
diversity in each of the sampling areas. Mean number of spedes per transect will also be
computed.
3.4 MONITORING SCHEDULE
Field data for the monitoring studies will be collected in June or July. Vegetation monitoring
will continue on an annual basis for one year after surface subsidence has occurred. If the
hydrologic monitoring program detects any significant changes in the surface or ground water
regime of the study area, the monitoring program will be evaluatcd and possibly extended.
•
`J
ACL /nc. • P.O.
