BANTA, Director
May 31, 1989
Mr. Craig Springer
Bear Coal Company
P.O. Box 518
Somerset, Colorado 81434
RE: Relocation of Alluvial Well No. AA1; Bear Coal Mine No. 3, File No. 81-033
Dear Mr. Springer:
Bear Coal Company's response (dated April 28, 1989) to the Division's request
has been reviewed. Two points need to be clarified.
1. In response to item (7) of your submittal, the well should be as
deep as the alluvium in the location to be drilled. If it is 15
feet to the bottom of the alluvium, the well need only be drilled
to 15 feet. Bear Coal needs to drill the well to bedrock. If the
well is deeper than 20 feet Bear Coal may consider placing 10 to 15
feet of perforated casing at the bottom of the well.
2. When the well is finished, a well completion diagram must be
submitted to the Division along with 3 copies of blue line maps
with tfie new well location marked and the old one erased.
As noted in your submittal, the completion of the well will be finished by
June 30, 1989.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Matthew S.
