That Order was entered on August 25, 2003.
A[ the rate of $100.00 per day, as of the date of this letter, the total accrued penalty for the two
zoning violations amounts to $3,200.00. You should be aware that at any point I have the option
of requesting the Court to issue an order to show cause why you should not be held in contempt
for failure to pay the accruing penalty and failure to comply with the County Zoning
Regulations.
As you know, you can stop the penalties from accruing by simply obtaining a building
permit from the Gilpin County Building Department for the two structures involved and by
obtaining a certificate of occupancy for the building which you are presently occupying as a
residence. Until you do so the $100.00 per day will continue to accrue. To get this matter off
"dead center" I propose the following "amnesty": If you contact Mr. Peterson before October 1,
2003 and submit all the information required to obtain a building permit before October 3Q,
2003, the penalties accrued to that point will be waived by the County. L` you do not have all
required submittals filed on or before that date, the County will take action to enforce and collect
the penalties which have accrued to October 30, 2003 and thereafter.
If you have any question regarding this matter, please contact the undersigned or Tony
Peterson.
Very truly yours,
PE OCK & FE/N~DEL, P.C.
/~es J. Pefrot~
JJP/nn
cc: Tony Peterson, Director of Community Development
