B. MONITORING REQUIREMENTS
Part I
Page lk of 19
Permit No.: CO-0032751
12. Additional Monitorinc• Instream Plow Measurements and Total Hardness
Nonitorino
In order to verify the assumptions made for determining the limitations
of this permit, the permittee shall install a flow measuring device in
Coon Track Creek at an adequate point above the Croae Hine and Caribou
Mine discharges. The permittee shall also monitor for Total Hardness
(ae CaC03) in Coan Track Creek at a point below the discharge from the
Croae Mine where adequate inetream mixing of the discharge occurs. The
permittee shall work with the Division in defining these two monitoring
locations before they are established, and the final locations shall be
submitted to the Division in a facility diagram. Total Hardness shall
ba monitored on a monthly basis for at least one year. The instream
flows shall be monitored routinely on a weekly basis, preferably during
non-etormwater event periods, but at least 16 hours after any rainfall
events. In addition, the annual low instream flow shall be determined
one time during December, as based upon several measurements of daily
flow taken during the week. The individual details of this one-time
annual low flow determination will need to be established with the
Division prior to this study being initiated.
Code: i - 11 Date: 1-84
