Introduction
To remove a sediment pond and it's also-
ciated drainage ditches, a coal mine opera-
tor must demonstrate that the reclaimed
land is not contributing settleable solids to
streamflow outside the permit area in
excess of pre-mining levels. Kaiser Steel
Resources (Kaiser) has conducted an
analysis to demonstrate that reclaimed
Colorado Coal Mine (GCMG) Number 1.
Mine is not contributing more sediment to
Gordon Arroyo than was the situation
prior to mining disturbance.
Kaiser's analyses was conducted using the
SEDCAD+ software package. Use of this
software was recommended by the Colora-
do Mined Land Reclamation Division
(CM1:.RD). Kaiser feels the analyses clear-
ly demonstrate that the sediment control
to warrant the removal of sediment pond
number A and B. The following sections
of this report describe how the analyses
were conducted and present the results of
the analyses.
A.` rim'.: ~, r
