In addition to the above described modifications to the reclamation plan pertaining to the
North Pit, the haul road to the North Pit, the Permanently Reclaimed Spoils Area, Topsoil
Stockpile #2, and Carbon Junction Canyon, the following modification was made
previously to the reclamation plan. This change involved removal of the former explosives
area from the mine site.
Golf Course Reclamation
The northwest comer of the original permit azea (approximately 10 acres} fell within the
area planned for development of a golf course and ancillary facilities. To facilitate
construction of the golf course facility, Oakridge Energy requested that the explosives
bench and access road be left in their current configuration. Based on this request, liability
release from CDMG was sought for this area. CDMG approved this release in 1997.
Subsequent to the liability release, the area was excised from the Carbon Junction Mine
permit area (CDMG TR07).
Timetable and Schedule
Reclamation of the Cazbon Junction Mine is slated to begin in the autumn of 2002 and
continue through completion. The completion of the tasks identified and described above
is anticipated to take three construction seasons (through the summer of 2005). With
completion of the earthmoving and retopsoiling, seeding and planting is contemplated in
the autumn of 2005. Should this timetable need to be altered, OEI will apprise CDMG
and revise the permit.
Reclamation Costs
Reclamation costs for third party completion of the reclamation plan have been developed
and are presented for reclamation of the North Pit, the haul road to the North Pit, topsoil
stockpile # 2, the permanently reclaimed spoils area, and reconstruction of Carbon
Junction Canyon.
