• The mining plan for the recharge structure along Hygiene Road indicates that there is
' flexibility in the type of construction that can occur, The structure can be a/mpleted to
maximize recharge to the ground water system, which will protect wells along H~~giene Road
from injury.
6.2 Changes to the Alluvial Aquifer -Stream System Relationship
• The water budget spreadsheet indicated that changes to the alluvial aquifer -stream system
relationship will be slight. Changes in the timing of streamflovv will occur clue to slight
changes in the recharge and discharge function of the aquifer. Changes will only occur in
timing of streamflows and not in amount of volume; small increases will occur in certain
months and small decreases will occur in other months.
• These changes will be less than 0.18 cfs and represent less than 0.04 percent of the annual
flow in the St. Vrain River. Impacts at this level will not be noticeable in the strum and will
' not affect other water rights.
• The decreases in the alluvial storage due to removal of portions of the aquifer are offset by
' increases in alluvial storage due to creation of unlined ponds. The correct balance of unlined
ponds and removed alluvium areas in the future will insure that the stream impacts are
negligible.
' A plan for augmentation or temporary substitute supply plan will be prepared cvhiclt will
replace all depletions caused by the mining operation with historic consumpti•~e use credits
from irrigation water rights or with junior storage water rights.

i
1
-36-
' 1 6i.~/m/~ lbrrv)rw .l;u,nnb a. hu.
