Both wells are located
er;. y^^^~. ~~ent of minim.
Well 17-w is locate3 near the Wadge T~ouYZdme^*, and Grater samples
collected at this site have a NaC~Mq-SO4 water type. 'IIie Wadge Coal
a~+~ i fer at this site receives rec2iazr3e frrau the wadge r~~m~*+t
(which receives discharge from the spoils aquifer) and the Little
Grassy Creek alluviian. 2DS om>~sztraticros at well 17-W have been
increasing since ]980, which is to be expected cozisiderinq the
sources of recharge far the Wadge Coal aquifer in this area.
Well 19-Fi is located south of the Wadge T+>~~~++~*+t. Wadge Coal
az ~; fer water quality at this site is quite different t han seen at
well 17-W; the water type is Na-HO03, and ZAS levels are
armr„x+'-»~tely one -third of those me asured at 17-w and show a very
slight decreasing trerrl. It should be noted that the water quality
• observed at 19-'W is quite similar to the water quality mPa~+**~z at
other Wadge Goal
~~!• monitoring wells that were later d estroyed by
Wolf Creek Overbuxtien/Wadge Underburden P4uifer. 2Yzree wells
presently monitor water quality, in the Wolf Creek Overburden/Y7adge
Ucderburden aquifer: 7-ice, 8P1-U, ard~ S11-U.
Well 7-WN is located downdip froze the Wolf Creek pit area, and water
sables from this site are distinctly different than those fr®n wells
8P1-U atrl S11-U. A CaMg-504 water type is present at 7-Fk70. 29.5
values at 7-FKA have declined since 1987 when a peak 2DS level of
1600 mg/1 was measut~ed; the 1991 water year average 2DS oorxentration
was 1233 mg/1.
Water quality at wells 8P1-U and Sil-U are quite similar. Both wells
show a Na-HOD3 water type; 2US oonoentsations are stable and range
• between 600 to 700 ag/1.
Wolf Creek Coal Awifer.
