THE SURROUNDING LAND IS BLM. <br />BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT, 455 EMERSON, CRAIG, CO <br />81625 (303) 824-8261. <br />SITE DESCRIPTION <br />THERE ARE NO EXISTING STRUCTURES WITHIN THE 200 FT. <br />AFFECTED AREA. <br />THIS IS AN OLD PIT THAT HAS BEEN MINED YEARS AGO, <br />THIS PIT WILL NOT AFFECT ANY WATER RESOURCES. IT <br />IS A DRY PIT. THERE IS A DRY BED NATURAL DRAINAGE <br />INDICATED ON THE SURVEY MAP. <br />I HAVE ALSO APPLIED FOR THE STORM WATER DRAINAGE PERMIT. <br />A COPY OF THAT APPLICATION HAS BEEN INCLUDED IN THIS <br />APPLICATION. <br />9"' <br />S~,u,uk <br />~~~ <br />2 WE WILL DIVERT ALL SURFACE RUNOFF INTO EXISTING NATURAL <br />DRAINAGE. THE GROUND WATER IN THIS VICINITY IS APP- <br />~ ROXIMATELY 80 FT. OF THE DEPOSIT. <br />THE THICKNESS OF-OVERBURDEN TN THIS AREA VARIES FROM <br />AS MUCH AS 0 ft. TO 2 FT. AS MUCH OF IT IS CLIFF AREA. <br />A D-7 CAT OZER WILL B USED TO EXCAVATE AND STOCKPILE <br />THE OVERBURDEN. A LOADER WILL THEN BE USED TO LOAD AND <br />DUMP TRUCKS TO TRANSPORT THE GRAVEL. <br />A PORTABLE NG S. SCREENING PLANT WILL BE <br />;~y- SET UP. N SPHA AS BEEN PROPOSED AT THIS TIME <br />b~„> ~ BUT IT IS A POSSIBILITY IN THE FUTURE. IT WOULD BE <br />A PORTABLE ASPHALT PLANT AND ALL NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS <br />1J~~M WOULD BE TAKEN, SUCH AS LINING THE LOADING AREA WITH <br />SOME TYPE OF MATERIAL TO GUARD AGAINST SPILLING WHEN <br />„~`' S~ ~~`~ ~ LOADING TRUCKS. A WEIGH STATION WILL ALSO BE SET ON <br />,~~+ SITE. THERE WILL BE NO CONCRETE FOOTINGS, BUILDING <br />~ SLABS OR OTHER STRUCTURES WHICH WILL REQUIRE DEMOLI- <br />TION DURING RECLAMATION ACTIVITIES. <br />THE ACCESS ROAD CONNECTING U.S. HIGHWAY 40 IS AM EXISTING <br />ROAD AND WILL REMAIN AFTER MINING ACTIVITIES. <br />
