• 5. DEFERRPtENT:
A. Defer seeded aregfrom ALL use for at least a two year period
or until grass is established. This may require fencing.
6. WEED CONTROL:
A. Annual weeds and grasses compete with grass seedings and
cause poor stands or failures. Post emergence herbicides
may be needed during the year of establishment and the
following year. Mowing is a recommended alternative to
the use of herbicides.
7. SEEDIAG DATES:
A. Seeding should be completed in late fall just prior to
freeze up and snowfall. This will avoid seed loss to spring
winds and allow new seedlings to take full advantage of
winter moisture. If seeding is to be done in spring, it is
recommended that a mulch be considered to increase survival
of the new seeding.
