RECEIVED
JA~J 1' tg?~~

~itii'UL ~Lh n.l
Bear River Gravel Pit has been in continuous operation since 1935. In 1962
pit was leased by present operator for 10 years. After lease was terminated, we
purchased the property and have continued the operation, using the existing haul
roads and crushing site. No additional disturbance of land is anticipated for our
operation. Total affected area is approximatly 9.9 acres. The operation is mostly
river rock, washed in by spring run off or from existing pit across river. (this
has been approved by Corp of Engineers.)
Equipment used for removal of rock is loaders & trucks.
The water used for this operation is obtained from a holding pond, directed
through crusher to wash sand & gravel, then into a settling pond. There is a stockpile
of topsoil, that will be used to restore land back to as ear as possible to
original terrain.
The land is fenced with barb wire. Gravel pit being within this area and be
posted with warning signs if area becomes hazardous to man or animals.
