Several species of fish inhabit the North Fork Gunni- <br />son River. Most of these are non-game fish. <br />Endangered/critical species/impacted: <br />Northern bald eagle during winter <br />Critical habitats/vegetative communities impacted: <br />The riparian community is the key habitat type in this area. It is important that <br />riparian habitat be left intact. <br />Assessment of impact: <br />The operation will have little impact on wildlife if the inchannel gravel bars (only) are <br />removed. No activities should be permitted in live water. 401 and 404 regulations should <br />be adhered to. <br />Mine Reclamation recormnendations (include key species/habitats for which restoration <br />is designed). <br />No reclamation should be necessary if only gravel bars are removed. The MLRB should pro- <br />hibit the use of a bulldozer pushing gravel from one stream bank to the next. The area <br />has begun to rehabilitate from past channelization and this process should be allowed to <br />continue.
