Reclamation will consist of Erna! shaping, applying 5" of stockpiled topsoil, and replmrring the sire
with gr¢ss species adaptable to this area.
(1) Topsoil depths aze S" at the proposed site. This topsoil, plus additional topsoil or suitable
overburden, will be stockpiled. Since the topsoil directly overlies the deposit, there is no
anticipated handling of overburden.
(2) Reclaimed slopes will have a maximum gradient of 3H: 1V to facilitate revegeradon and
reduce soil erosion.
(3) Topsoil depths in this area aze 5". Only this amount will be removed and s[ockpiled. If
any additional topsoil is encouatered,. it will be stockpiled as well.
(4) The Logan Couary Cooperative Extension Service and Soil Conservation Service bave
recommended that seeding be done between November 1 and April 30 with a disc drill or
hydroseeder for best results. The seedbed will be prepazed by chiseling the site then
mulching with either 2 tons per acre of straw foAowed by a light discing to crimp the
straw, or spreading approximately 20 tons of manure per acre. Fertilizer will be applied
at a rate recommended for Rangeland in this area prior to chiseling.
(S) The Soil Conservation Service has recommended the following seed mixture:

(6) Trees and shrubs will not be plaated since they do not naturally grow on this soil type in
this area.
