~~
COLORADO DEPARTMENT _ ' f~ALTTi, Water Quality Control Division
Rationale, Amendment No. 1 Page 3 Permit No. CO-A027154
V. DISCUSSION OF AMENDMENT: (Continued)
contributions of mine drainage water would be minimal for pond F and ourfall 007, the
Division has determined that monitoring for silver will cotuinue at this discharge. However,
if future silver concentrations should occur at higher concentrations, then the Division will
include limitations for potentially dissolved silver for ourfo/1007 (which would be the same as
the silver limitations for outfall 005).
In summary, the Division has reviewed the tK+o requests for this amendment, and has
determined that these two modifications are appropriate to include in this permit. Thus, Part
I.B.1. of the permit (page Ij) has been accordingly modified for outfall 005 so that self-
monitoring samples shall be taken in the culverts prior to the ejJtuent flow measuring device.
There has been no change in the permit regarding outfall 007, since the permit language
does not spec fkally indicate the contributing wastewater sources to this discharge.
Since the changer in this amendmem are considered sign ant, public notice requiremems
are applicable.
Don Hobner
August 27, 1993
•
•
