Dear Mr. Liddle:
On September 24, 1982, U. S. Steel Mining Co., Inc. completed the ex-
ploration drilling covered by the subject permit. Six holes were drilled
from the drill site which is located on Map C8-1275. Two of these holes
were drilled along an existing road. Four holes were drilled in a pad
which was constructed west of the existing road as shown on Map A8-1416.
Construction of the drill pad included the following:

Each drill hole was drilled 12, inches in diameter in overburden and
then continued 8 1/8 inches in diameter in rock to a depth of approximately
500 feet. The holes were cored with a six inch core Barre} to a depth of
approximately 530 feet. All drill holes have been plugged full depth with
cement.
Because of poor weather following the completion of drilling and the
lack of equipment available to perform the work, Somerset Mine was unable to
reclaim the drill site. The reclamation of the drill site will be completed
in the spring of 1983. Upon completion of reclamation, U. S. Steel Mining
Co. will submit a report describing the work performed.
