Assessment of Mining Impact on Wildlife
This area is presently rather intensively farmed, with the exception of
the riparian area along the river which is very heavily grazed. Actually,
the impacts on wildlife would be more from the harassment, rather than
habitat destruction.
8, Proposed Mitigation Measures Including Reclamation for Wildlife Habitat
The area involves the Poudre flood plain with a high water table.
Properly sloping banks, and seeding of the area to enhance habitat and
cover could create some very real wildlife values. Also the ponds could
be developed into a good fishery. Our people stand ready to help with
any needed planning along this line.
Prepared by Don Bogart Title Environmental Biologist
Dace February 1, 1978
H-4
