• Well G W B I is the other shallow bedrock well, and this well is located outside of the subsided area. This well
has experienced a decline and subsequent recovery of water level similar to well GWB2R.
Vegetation Survey
The 1994 vegetation survey for the Fish Creek study area typified the prior vegetation studies conducted on the
subsided and non-subsided lands. The results of the study indicate no significant difference behveen the
vegetation as expressed by cover, production and species diversity on the subsided versus non-subsided lands.
The data is presented in the first half, 1994 subsidence report and it is incorporated herein by reference.
During the entire study period it was evident that subsidence was not having any impact upon vegetation within
the area. As stated in the above referenced report the subsided area had higher production and cover than the
non-subsided area. Species numbers differed by only one between the two areas. As concluded in the report it
is safe to theorize that subsidence did not have any deleterious impacts on the vegetation located within the
mined area.
•
•
PR 93-03 Ex.
